July 26 Family Service
Worship at HomeWelcome to this time of worship, with a service designed for people of all ages, but with children in mind for this family service. Whether you are by yourself or meeting together with your family or household, we pray that you will know the presence of the Living God with you today. Rebecca Mosley prepared this service and Erwin Kinsey brings us the sermon.
Some children may find it difficult to just sit quietly and listen to the scripture readings and the sermon. They often need something to keep their hands busy so that their minds can be quiet and listen. At the end of this order of worship, there are some coloring pages, drawn from our scripture passages, for kids to decorate and help them hear the message better. You might want to print these in advance if you are able.

June 28 Family Worship
A guide for at-home worshipWelcome to all! We continue with our written guide to worship during this challenging time. We continue fervent prayers for all affected by the virus, for those who have lost a loved one, for our congregation, our country, and for all the world. We pray for God’s upholding hand during physical, emotional, and economic hard times. We beg for God’s mercy and grace.
June 21 Worship
A guide for at-home worshipDear ACC congregation,
The at-home worship service for this Sunday, June 21st can be found at this link, prepared by Michael Murray (Service leader) and Mike Noel ( Preacher).
If we were at ACC we would see the green coloured banners being used. We are now in what is called ‘ordinary time’; the time after Pentecost. Not ‘ordinary’ as in ‘usual’ or ‘common’; but a word coming from ‘ordinal’ or counted time. These 23 – 28 weeks until Christ the King Sunday in November is a time to focus on the mission and life of the church in the world, and the colour green is the symbol of growth and newness and renewal; as well as symbolizing the hope of new life in the resurrection.
While we yet cannot enter ACC and see the green church banners, we just need to look outside at the greenness there, and be in awe of God’s creation.
And may we use this ‘ordinary time’ to be Christ’s hands and heart in our world.
Blessings on your coming week.
Susan

June 7 Trinity Sunday
A guide for at-home worshipIt has been a difficult week, in Arusha and around the world. We long to gather as a body, to uphold one another in the apostles’ teaching and sharing, in the breaking of bread and prayer.
On the traditional church calendar, today is Trinity Sunday. Let us use this opportunity to embrace our unity. Those of us in Tanzania are kindly asked to begin worship at 10:30 am. Gather outside on your verandas if possible, that we might feel each others’ presence. From Ilboru down to Olasiti, Ngaramtoni across to Moshono, let our songs ring out as one.
All of us together, we shall overcome.
Sun, May 31 Pentecost
A guide for at-home worshipIf you wish, you can also start your Sunday worship with a minute of silent prayer, thinking of those you may know who have died recently.

Sunday, April 26 Third Sunday of Easter
A guide for at-home worshipThis time of at-home worship offers you an opportunity to step into the Gospel story. Hear Jesus’ invitation to walk together for a while and listen for how he responds to what is burning in your heart. During this worship service, you might actually choose to get up and take a walk (if your circumstances allow) to pray about the Gospel lesson. If you cannot walk, have a journal beside you to write what you would say to Jesus.
Sunday, April 19 Second Sunday of Easter
A guide for at-home worshipEven though our ACC faith family may be scattered, even though we cannot meet at our church, we are thankful for all of God’s blessings in our lives; and thankful for the hope that comes in the celebration of this Easter season.
You are welcome to use this service in part or in whole.
May God bless you today and in the days to come.

Easter Sunday Resurrection Day
A guide for at-home worshipDear Friends in Christ:
In these trying times, we worship at home, confident that the love embraced as a congregation will sustain us while praying alone or in small groups. As always, we are one in the body of Christ.
Attached to this message, please find a PDF file with an Order of Worship for Easter Sunday. Scriptures, hymns and rites for this celebration are provided within. For those with internet access, videos with music, vocals and lyrics can be viewed by clicking on the blue hyperlinks. A small amount of bread and wine/grape juice is needed for communion. If you wish, sit in comfortable chairs around a coffee table. Place a cross on the table and light a candle.
Blessings and peace to all from the Worship Committee of Arusha Community Church.
Good Friday Tenebrae Service Wait, Pray, Love
A guide for at-home worshipHere is a guide for an at-home Good Friday service.
This service can be done with others or alone. To listen to the songs and the message, you will need an internet connection. You can also simply read the lyrics, or sing or play other songs that speak to you.
This is a Tenebrae (“darkness” in Latin) service: A quiet, contemplative service of darkness. Tenebrae services are usually done in the evening or night (when it’s dark), but you can do it any time. It will take about 45 minutes to an hour. It focuses on Christ’s crucifixion and death, so it is heavy and serious. However, there is no graphic content. Parents can decide if they want children to participate.
The attached Good Friday document will guide you through the service. It includes some song lyrics, and Bible readings in case you don’t have a Bible handy, and to help the service flow. Feel free to read from your own Bible if you prefer. There are also links to songs and a video with a short message. If you have any problems with the video, or prefer reading to watching, you can read the other PDF (Waiting for a miracle) at the time indicated in the service.
May your time be blessed.
