Letter from the Church Council

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we enter the season of Advent, may we all be reminded of our Lord’s second coming. In the first coming, He came with lowliness, compassion and persuasion for the people of the world to receive the good news of repentance and forgiveness of sins through faith in Christ Jesus. He came as the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

In the second coming He will come as a King of kings and Lord of lords. He will come to judge the living and the dead for lack of faith in Him who took the sins of everyone who believes in God through Jesus Christ. John 5:24.

As we remember and celebrate His first coming and as we prepare for the second coming, as believers, we need to know that we are on a transitioning period and that we have a task to do in obedience to the great commission to “go and make disciples” of every nation(tribe, language, culture) Matthew 28:19,20. His second coming will happen after every tribe, language and culture(nations) have been reached by the good news of the Gospel. Matthew 24:14.

We need to look around and see if we are actually doing the work of God or not, as labourers in His harvest field of which the harvest is plentiful but labourers are few. As we pray for the Lord of the harvest to raise more labourers, let us see how each one of us is participating in this Kingdom work of reaching others with the love of God and intentionally doing something to deliberately make a generation of disciples who will disciple others.

At ACC, we have quite a good opportunity for everyone to take part in doing this work through committees available. E&O, PBC, WoCo, CE and other. For more information about the committees and how to be part of God’s mission as a useful instrument, please ask the duty elder available after every Sunday Service or visit the office after service. Once you know Christ Jesus and believed Him you are blessed if you obey His instructions and become a blessing if you help someone else to know and believe Him. John 13:17. We have been blessed to become a blessing.
