Letter from the Church Council
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving” Colossians 2:6-7.
After the harvest a series of thanksgiving periods begins. In some parts of the world, they even have Thanksgiving Day as a public holiday where they get to sit with family and friends and enjoy the meal together. At ACC in our own diversity, we celebrate thanksgiving in so many different ways, in Harvest festival, through outreach projects, through PBC, and events depending on Nationalities, the actual thanksgiving holidays. In other words, we have a multitude of options to demonstrate how thankful we are to receive the blessings from Heaven above.
We are all blessed with so many talents and as Christians we are all existing with the purpose to serve the one Almighty God. We all have gifts and it’s our responsibility to demonstrate thanksgiving and gratitude by sharing our gifts. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” James 1:17.
This month of October, let us continue with giving be it in prayer for someone who desperately needs a prayer, serving to those in need of our service, teaching and preaching the good word to those who are hungry to know the true God, feeding and clothing the poor etc. In short, we lets practice gratitude by sharing what God has blessed us with.
The devotion of Thanksgiving should not only be on Money and the fruits of our hands it should also be from the fruits of our hearts and thoughts; …“But be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father” Ephesians 5:18-20
