Letter from the Church Council
“Discover God-given purpose of your life”
Psalm 57:2 says, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.” If I could ask you what makes you angry, joyful, excited or passionate, what would you say? Take note of when your emotions are moved; these times can be a sign of your God-given purpose. There are so many gifts in you which can be used to serve the Lord. Talking about Christ and doing works that serve Him stirs me up. When coupled with talents, passions will point in the direction of your purpose of things that deeply impact people on a spiritual and emotional level.
If you want to learn about your God-given purpose, the following are great places to start:
1.Prioritize Bible reading daily
2. Worship
3. Pray
4. Pursue, prayerfully, talents and passions in practical ways.
5. Involve yourself in Christian community
Ask God to show you the things that move you and make a list. And remember, He wants you to discover His purpose for you more than you do. He is completely able to reveal your purpose to you, and He will as you diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). Consider that your purpose is not just about you; it’s about what God wants to do through you.
The Arusha Community Church provides most of its income to support community through its various committees. This support has touched the lives of many who are in need. The gospel has reached out to diverse groups in the communities, particularly the youth and so much more! May the Lord use you through your purpose to offer this support indirectly through your offering.
ACC receives free will offerings from its members and non-members to finance its ministries and projects. You are welcome to join others in this purpose! We should serve God and others with all that we have, not only our tithes. In Mark 12:41-44 Jesus pointed out to his disciples how the poor widow put the last bit of money she had in the temple treasury. Giving offerings is about serving God with our whole life and following Him faithfully.
THINK about it! God blesses us so that we may be a blessing to others, and so that we may honour Him, also with the money and possessions He has entrusted to our care. Remember in everything that you undertake to do, God has called you to a purpose and wants you to walk in it — for others and for your own joy! “Arise!! This matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it” – Ezra 10.4.
